Kay: Simi you're looking really nice today!
Simi: Thanks brother Korede.
Kay: I'm not your brother Simi I've told you. I really do admire you and I'd like you to think about what I said the other day.
(Belema, Cynthia, TJ, Fred sitting nearby)
Belema: Hmm! That sister Simi is carnal oh. See how she's always talking to brother Korede alone.
Fred: She's on fire for God oh. See how she was leading prayer this morning ...
Cynthia: Its not by leading prayer - why is she always going to meet brother Korede that has told her not to call him brother. What else does she need for her to know he is of the world? The bible says flee from all appearances of evil ...
Belema: And his uncle is the pastor oh ...
TJ: But you don't even know brother Korede, sister Cynthia. He joined us about two months ago and you haven't said more than 'Brother Korede' to him. Not even good morning or God bless you.
Cynthia: That's because my spirit ...
Fred: Please let's just get back to our meeting. So the report from ...
And though it's usually not this extreme, we end up judging people without even getting to know them.
Two things I must quickly point out before I run away are these:
1) Judge not lest ye be judged
2) Don't get comfortable with the spirit of familiarity
I don't think I need to hammer too much on number 1 but let me just say, don't judge a book by its cover (or Gbenga by his face *runs to the moon*). Make an effort to get to know people before you create an impression about them.
Now the 'koko of my oro' is familiarity. It can actually be a big deal - a demon in fact! Yup ... I went there!
Jesus' home town people could not be blessed because of familiarity and 'see finishism'. After all he was just a carpenter's son. My darling people of God, you know that story up there - Kay's most likely to get one of those girls before TJ or Fred no matter how 'holy spirit filled' they are because of this same familiarity issue.
Anyway the point of my speech is this - Be open to possibilities, be willing to change, be sensitive to the spirit and let God lead.
Don't direct God's leading - you need to completely let go of the reins and who knows maybe people will come and be joining Foresight because our intra marriage rate is 100% success guaranteed (me I'm not even here again :D )
I don't even know whether it's still safe to put my name X_X
Lol
