Religion vs Relationship

Hello people of God. It’s been a while since we had an episode of Contrast! So here’s today’s contrast. It is one we usually debate maybe addressing them differently. Ladies and gentlemen, they have existed since bible times and are still very much around; in the ring today, we have:

RELIGION VS RELATIONSHIP.

I mean if religion is so great, why is starting so many wars?

Why does it build huge churches but fails to feed the poor?

You see the problem with religion is that it never gets to the core

it’s just behavior modification like a long list of chores

like let’s dress up the outside so it looks nice and neat

but it’s funny that’s what they used to do to mummies while the corpse rots underneath

Now I ain’t judging, I’m just saying we’re putting on a fake look

Cos there’s a problem if people only know that you’re a Christian by your Facebook

Now let me clarify, I love the church, I love the bible and yes I believe in sin

but if Jesus came to your church, would they actually let him in?

And that’s why religion and Jesus are two different clans

Religion is man searching for God, Christianity is God searching for man

which is why salvation is freely mine and forgiveness is my own

Not based on my merits but Jesus’ obedience alone

So for religion, I hate it, in fact I literally resent it.

Because when Jesus said, ‘It is finished’, I believe he meant it.’

Jesus vs Religion

So a relationship is necessary so you can know your Savior

because religion is just routine – a kind of behavior

Know Jesus and let him know you!

Because His love is pure and His ways are true.

So for this contrast battle its relationship over religion

because I’d rather be alone and right than join the band wagon.

And even though it’s hard sometimes not to be religious

I have to remember that it’s in Christ I am righteous!
