So I went for a Nikkai the other day, Muslim wedding and the music playing was Ya Bisimillahi - in other words, their own song yet in our own weddings, we cannot play simple 'Thank God I made it!' it has to be 'Shakiti bobo' and we still wonder why the religion is spreading way more than Christianity.
It's in the little things really that the difference is made - not in the preaching or crusade but in the life style and day to day practices, it's not in the alms giving but in your attitude on Lagos roads.
It's not in the covering of your hair on Sunday but in the length and depth of your clothes every other day, it's not in the size of your charity basket but in the sincerity of the smile you give that brother that's visiting your church for the first time.
Here's a little something Kolade added when I was talking to him about this:
A reflection of Christs nature in you is all others need to see
A reflection of Christs nature in you is all others need to see
Enough of the talk the talk its time for us to walk the walk
When Christ asked us to be the light of the world and the Salt of the earth
He expected us to be at the fore front of things, that means that others look up to us
The way things are right now, we seem to borrow light from the world
Its high time you and I stopped being ashamed of who we really are and stand for what we believe in
Defend the cause of the one we accepted into our lives
Reflect His love and saving grace in the way speak, walk, relate
In the songs we listen to and sing out
In the places we go and the people we roll with
But most importantly in the little things that seem not to matter but go a long way in touching the lives of others
That smile, that warm embrace, that kind word, that nice gesture, that new #1000 note you drop in a beggers bowl
Boldly declaring your love for Christ
Being proud to be seen carrying a Bible
Having all the latest gospel songs fill your playlist
Now it's me again :D
They took time to spell capital A capital L capital L capital A capital H capital U (that's literally how the guy said it) but we're too 'sophisticated' to spell J, E, S, U, S - No human capitalization required!
Dare to be different! Let the world see Jesus in you!!!
