Hi everyone!
So I was listening to one of my favourite songs the other day and I don't know if I've ever shared it here before so here it goes:
'Lord I'm split in two
Part of me loves the world
And the other loves You
So what do I do
I wanna be saved
But I got to stay cool too
And no I'm not a fool
I know eventually I'm gonna have to choose
And really I don't wanna lose
My ticket into heaven
And a chance to be used by You
Part of me loves the world
And the other loves You
So what do I do
I wanna be saved
But I got to stay cool too
And no I'm not a fool
I know eventually I'm gonna have to choose
And really I don't wanna lose
My ticket into heaven
And a chance to be used by You
And if it's God that I'm after
I can't serve two masters
And before something happens
I got to turn it all around
Because I know
I can't just have my cake and eat it too
Cause it's real easy to stay on the fence and still do you
And it'd be cool if we could love the Lord and still go do our thing
But see it doesn't work like that
You gotta to be white or black'
I can't serve two masters
And before something happens
I got to turn it all around
Because I know
I can't just have my cake and eat it too
Cause it's real easy to stay on the fence and still do you
And it'd be cool if we could love the Lord and still go do our thing
But see it doesn't work like that
You gotta to be white or black'
That's the first verse and the chorus. I love this song because it's how I feel sometimes and I'm sure most of us can relate.
You don't have to compromise for Christianity to be 'cool'. People around you would make it easier or more difficult because if you surround yourself with Christians, then you can throw parties and not have to worry about alcohol consumption and be tempted to 'impress' your friends.
Anyway you get the point. It's a struggle to stay relevant sometimes and we are tempted to compromise or worse still (in my opinion) sit on the fence - Ask for grace everyday to make wise decisions. That's all I can say.
P.S. I didn't go through this before posting so forgive any grammatical or typographical errors. Thanks :)
P.P.S. The song is titled 'No Gray' by Jonathan McReynolds.
Peace y'all,
God's Girl.
