As you might have noticed, my week starts on Wednesday :D Ever wonder why? Well, I figured that Sunday’s sermon would give you fuel for the week but par adventure you had a few extra errands to run or you were caught up in some stressful situation a.k.a Lagos traffic, you’d be needing a refill by Wednesday. Wednesday’s fuel is enough to last you till the following Sunday though some weeks you can bring your keg on Thursday to church for some reserve fuel during Foresight fellowship.
Anyway, if you haven’t subscribed yet, you had better enter your email address before you continue! I’m watching you (Well, God is :p).
Quickly before I go, check the announcement page for updates on Foresight events. We'd try as much as possible to be very current. Here’s today’s post:
'They remind me of Your faithfulness
And all You brought me through
They teach me that my brokenness
Is something You can use
They show me where I’ve been and
That I’m not there anymore
That’s what scars, that’s what scars are for'
'What Scars are for' - Mandisa
Your reaction to what life dishes you is up to you. Imagine you're very hungry and then life dishes you a big bowl of pasta! No sauce or anything. The pasta is too hard you can't eat it. There's no point shouting because no one can hear you... All they can see are your actions.
You can decide to pick a plate, serve yourself and turn your pasta into a message (in this case you might want to try saying you want more food instead of I love you) or sit there complaining that the food is hard and you can't eat and there's no sauce and this and that!!!
You can decide to feel like it's you against the world and so you're a victim or choose to see the side you're standing on - Its the side of victory.
You can decide to complain that you have too many 'enemies' waiting for your downfall or rejoice in the fact that your table would be fuller!
'You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies ...'
- Psalm 23:5a
It has to be a table big enough for all your enemies to see the feast being prepared for you!
You can decide to let life happen to you and just react - Que sera sera! Or you can make things happen... Act so that there's a reaction!
You can decide to see life as a bed of pine needles or as a bed of roses where you may get pricked by a thorn from time to time but you're in good hands.
You can decide to wallow in self pity about how scarred you are or embrace your scars as the medals of honour from a battle fought and won! They from a part of who you are today. Your story helps in your purpose... Your story reveals more of His glory
We can go on and on but I hope you get this fact - that YOUR life is what YOU make it! Life is full of choices. You decide! Dare to dream! In Pastor Dare's words, 'You have just one life to live, so make it count!'
Ultimately it's the exit point that matters, there are only two places to go. Where are you headed? - Heaven or Hell?
