I was talking with my friends recently and my recurrent complimentary advice was “take your swimming lessons seriously!” The July 10 experience will linger in the hearts of many for a little longer than a while. We give God the glory that our camp was safe. He has promised not to harm us by flood anymore. So we are not shaken. Or are we?
As we gathered in Church (our take off point) for last Week’s Exco’s Day Out (I was invited as a special guest), a substantial part of our conversation was the aftermath of the recent flooding. In the course of that conversation, one of the Excos who was affected in a significant way by the flood, shared a testimony that touched my heart. He said: “Frank, you can’t believe some Excos, out of their own volition, came to fix my apartment this morning.” Some of our lovely sisters had actually taken out time to go and clean, repair and decorate his apartment. We both took time to look for a suitable word to express such an outpour of love and care, but the only word we could find was “Fellowship.” I am very proud of the ladies responsible for this act of kindness. May the Lord bless them with good homes in Jesus name. Amen!
One of the things I enjoy most in life is fellowship with our brethren. It provides an avenue or opportunity to relate with ‘loved ones.’ Sometimes the only thing that makes us joyful could just be a statement from a brother or a minor act by a sister. Sometimes I get blessed just by observing certain things.

I was on my way home at about 5pm on Sunday evening when my spirit urged me to stop by a friend’s place to say hi. Little did I know that robbers were shooting people down on my street, Ogunlana Drive. Only God knows what could have happened if I had gone straight home. This was barely 24 hours after the robbery at the Ikate area, which is exactly 3 weeks after the robbery on Ramoni Street in Lawanson. As at the time of this update, my friend’s entire building that was robbed a week ago, is still nursing the trauma.
The bottom line is that we need to pray o! The security level in Lagos State has too many loop holes and we simply cannot protect ourselves enough. However, we must be more security-conscious these days. Don’t stay out late; lock your gates early and don’t leave your house earlier than 6am. Robbers of this generation have absolutely no joy abiding in them. The Lord who keepeth the city will not let them come near our dwelling in Jesus name. Amen again!
