Three-In-One

Spirit Soul and Body
Have you ever asked yourself, “Was that me or was it God?” if so, then this series is for you!

With too many voices – the voice of the world, the voice of our flesh, the voice of the enemy – competing for our attention, it is imperative that we tune to the leading of God’s Spirit. Why? Because it is the Highway to our blessing. It is the best way we can locate our blessing and fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.

I have thought of slicing the above in separate parts? Well I think almost all Christians can dissect the body. But except we are using the right utensil/tool, we might not be able to dissect Spirit and Soul into separate parts. Hebrews 4:12 says; there is a tool sharp enough to divide asunder, Spirit and Soul, and that tool is the Word of God. Halleluiyah!! By the grace of God I’ll be sharing my school of thought here and I hope it makes brain sense. You may respond at anytime so we can make it interactive.

Three-In-One - Episode 1
In the world of computers, take your normal desktop for instance; there is the Hardware (the body) which is anything you can touch or feel. Then there is the Software (Operating System and Applications) which you may see but can’t touch or feel. It’s like a shadow, spirit or something... Though there is Middleware, but for the benefits of those who are not so Techy or have much computer savvy, let’s not get ourselves too confused. We’ll just stick with Hardware and Software for our class.

Now the Software has two major categories; the Operating System (O/S) (which is the first display you see when your PC comes on – it could be Windows XP or Vista or Apple, depending on what O/S you are running on). The other category is the Application – the software that you work with to meet your particular needs. For instance, you use MS Office application to do your word document, excel calculations, etc, your Internet Explorer application helps you browse the internet, and your Windows Media helps you play music and videos, Bible software for your reading…etc. These are all applications.

A very important part is the work environment of the applications I mentioned above. Just the way you have a table in your hostel room in those days where you put books, magazines Tv, makeup kits, etc, the RAM (Random-access Memory) of your PC is the work environment for your applications. It is also known as virtual/temporary memory and only functions when there is an Operating System running in a Powered Body/Hardware. When NEPA takes light it vapourizes…lol (just like the brain goes blank when you starve it of oxygen or maybe when you receive a Mike Tyson kind of punch...lol).

What about the Hard disk? You may ask… well its part of the system. It’s where all Software (Operating System and applications) in the system plus all the works they have performed are stored. …More like a database (or heart), it is garbage in, garbage out - what you have kept there is what you will find there. No magic!

Are you confused yet?
Don't be, we will continue in the next Episode.

Enjoy!
